More Homes from my Readers

I have received so many pictures from my readers ! I'm so amazed at all the great looking small spaces you all have !! Here are some fantastic rooms from my readers (from top to bottom) Laurie Marie, Heather Brady, and Shani Ring. I love all three of these spaces ! Keep those photos coming, I will be featuring some more homes soon !

How about this...

Uneven cabinets, opt for a table instead of a island, open and close storage, use a odd wall to your advantage !

So sorry for the lack of post...hit with the flu bug, but all is well now, just not well enough to have a point to my post. So here are some pretty pictures in the mean time :) I have had tons of readers sending in photos, I can't promise I will be able to put all of them up, but I will try ! I'm so impressed with all of your homes ! Hope your having a good weekend !

Reader Home !!!!

May I just say that I'm LOVING the reader photos that are coming my way ! Keep em coming !!! This beautiful kitchen was redone by a reader Karin from Wilmington, North Carolina. She and her boyfriend redid the entire thing themselves, including the plumbing and electrical work and more ! Her home is 1000 square feet in total. Her kitchen was 10 x 8 and now is 10 x 15. I love the whole look and feel of the kitchen. The cab and tile work is stunning ! Great job Karin !!! (and boyfriend :))

Blending Rooms

When you do not have a lot of space to begin with, its hard to know how to blend rooms that spill into each other. The first thing I do when planning a room is ask myself exactly HOW is this rooom going to be used. Every inch in a small home or apartment is valuable space that you don't want to waste ! Washing machines are now making there way to bathrooms and kitchens. Thinking differently about how we live is very important in small space planning !

Apartments !

Here are 3 apartments from around the world. The top one is from Hong Kong. Very nice although I'm not sure about the tub. Love the tub, love the look, but what about privacy ? Still, so pretty. The 2nd one is from Sweden. Love the white, so simple, and clean feeling. The 3rd is from the United States. I LOVE this one ! It was in the AT small cool contest. The rest of the place is just as amazing !

Give us your best space saving tips for the kitchen !

I would love to hear about your personal tips for storage and/or making your kitchen feel bigger. For me, I use a two tiered plate rack on my counter, right by the stove. It frees up a lot of cabinet space and is so handy to serve food right off the stove. Also I replaced big wooden kitchen chairs for low modern ones. It makes the space feel much roomier. How about you !?!?

Apartment eye candy !

Although the contest(small, cool 2010-Apartment therapy) is over, I had a great time looking at all the photos of stylish apartments. They were in many styles and sizes! Take a look yourself by clicking the title of this post!

White !

One of the most used tip in small space design is using the color white. I personally think you can use any color in a small space, but white is a wonderful choice. In addition to white making a space look larger, you can add any accent color with smaller accessories and not break the bank!

A trip to the islands

Most of us with our small spaces do not have room for a table much less island, but these are on a somewhat smaller scale and I love how different they feel.
